Who runs MyDegreePal

MyDegreePal is an independent student project operated by Dawood Khan. It is not affiliated with UC Merced and does not replace official advising or registration.

Your degree audit and Step 2 information

The planner reads your uploaded HTML audit in your browser. The current planner does not upload the full audit to MyDegreePal’s servers, Google, Supabase, or an AI service.

During Google sign-in, a temporary copy of the parsed audit and your Step 2 fields is kept in this tab’s browser storage so the planner can restore your work. The app consumes this copy when you return and rejects drafts older than 30 minutes. Closing the tab or selecting MyDegreePal in the header clears the local planning session.

Google sign-in

If you sign in with Google, Google shares your basic profile and email address with Supabase, the authentication provider for MyDegreePal. Supabase stores account and session information so you can use saved plans. MyDegreePal does not receive your Google password or request access to Gmail, Google Drive, or Google Calendar.

A login session is stored in your browser to keep you signed in. Signing out clears the app’s session on that browser. You can also review or revoke the Google connection in your Google Account settings.

Saved plans and PDF copies

When you choose to save a plan, Supabase stores the plan name, selected course codes and titles, entered units, requirement notes and checks, audit and course-snapshot dates, and whether the plan uses sample data. These details may reveal academic information. Creating a PDF also stores a copy of that PDF in your account and downloads it to your device.

Saved plans are associated with your signed-in account. Database ownership rules restrict access to that account. Saving a plan does not upload your complete audit or enroll you in courses.

Hosting and analytics

Vercel hosts the website and provides Web Analytics. Hosting and authentication services process technical request information to deliver and operate the site. Analytics helps show page visits and aggregate usage.

MyDegreePal removes query strings and fragments from page URLs sent by its analytics component. Audit contents, Step 2 form values, and saved-plan contents are not added to analytics events.

Managing your data

You can delete saved plans from the planner. Deleting a plan also deletes its associated PDF records from the active app database; downloaded files remain on your device. Saved copies remain in your account until deleted. Account and login records are separate from plan records.

For access, correction, or account-deletion requests, email the contact above from your account’s email address. Provider-held logs and any backups are subject to the providers’ settings and retention practices. You can clear MyDegreePal’s browser storage through your browser settings.
